    About the Game

What is Swords of Legends Online?

    • Swords of Legends Online is an action MMORPG originally developed in China by Wangyuan Shengtang & Aurogon. It's set in a breathtaking fantasy world with sophisticated combat mechanics and a unique storyline based on Chinese mythology. It offers 8 unique classes, an extensive housing system and many other features for MMO veterans and newcomers alike. Find out all about it here: https://join.solo.gameforge.com/

    What is SOLO's business model?

    • SOLO is a Free-To-Play title. Just download it and have fun!

    Are there microtransactions?

    • SOLO features a plethora of purely visual items (costumes, mounts, weapon-skins, etc.) that can optionally be purchased. These will have no effect on gameplay and are on top of the already extensive visual customisation available in the game.

Is character customization only possible through microtransactions?

    • Not at all! SOLO features a huge amount of customization attainable through regular gameplay.
    • Each weapon, piece of armor etc. that you pick up throughout the game is unlocked permanently as a skin that you can mix and match to your liking, giving your characters a high variety of different themes and looks!

What is the difference between the two editions?

    • The Deluxe and Collector's Editions come with additional vanity items. You can compare all the versions here → https://gf.link/SOLOPreorder

Will I have a disadvantage compared to players with a more expensive version?

    • All items obtained through these versions are of a purely visual nature, though they are exclusive to these packages.

Can I upgrade my package version at a later point?

    • Yes, that is possible in the Gameforge Client and Steam.
    • Unfortunately, it is not possible in the Epic Games Store.

How do I redeem my package bonuses?

    • We will send you the bonus items through the in-game "Collect Gift Pack" feature (icon below the minimap).

Will I get the package bonuses only for one character?

    • Mounts/costumes/weapon skins are unlocked for your whole account (you only need to claim it once per region), so you can enjoy their unique looks on every one of your characters.

    What languages are supported?

    • The game is fully translated into English, German, French. Voice-overs are provided in English with subtitles in English, German, French.
    • Russian is coming soon!
    • An option to switch to the original Chinese voiceover is also available.

How is the world structured? How do I get around?

    • The game world is split into large zones which are separated by loading screens. The main methods of movement are either by mount or teleporting.

How many different classes are there to play?

    • There are 8 different classes available – each of them playable in 2 different roles (Ranged, Melee, Tank, Support)

How many character slots are available?

    • There are 9 character slots available.

    Is there any gender lock?

    • The first 6 classes introduced at launch can be played as both male / female. New classes joining the game with 2.0 are restricted to one bodytype: Male for the Crystal Warrior, as well as Girl for the Spirit Warrior and Fox Mage.

Does the game feature the holy trinity?

    • Yes, to excel in SOLO, it's best to have a group composed of 1 tank, 1 healer and 3 damage dealers for 5-player content. PvE combat scales up to 20-player raids where you might have more room to adjust your composition a little more.

Is there PvP? If so, is it open-world or in a separate game mode?

    • There are several instanced PvP game modes for small to large groups to enjoy.
    • Open-world PvP can be experienced either through consensual duels, faction PvP, or the rampage mode (all of which are explained in more detail in our PvP posts).
    • Alliance Wars offer large-scale battles between guilds and their allies

Can I change the game language?

    • In the Gameforge Client, you can select which language your client starts in (Settings > Game language). The client needs to be restarted for the changes to take effect.
    • In Steam, you can change the client language in the game setting (Properties… > Languages) by either right-clicking the game in the library or, if you have the game page open in the library, by clicking on the manage wheel icon.

    What servers are available?

    • We offer two region clusters – one in Europe (Germany) and one in North America (Eastern US).
    • Each server cluster will be composed of multiple servers able to support several thousands of players!

Can I play with friends on other servers?

    • While cross-region play (NA/EU) is not supported, all players of the same region will be able to play together.

Can I transfer to another server to play with my friends?

    • You can always create a new character on a new server, as the 9 available slots are per server.
    • Moving a character from EU to NA or vice versa is not possible.

Can I change the server/region I’m playing on?

    • Through the Gameforge Launcher, you can quickly select which region your client should connect to (Settings > Region). The client needs to be restarted for this change to take effect. Existing characters will not be transferred, so you need to create new characters in the new region.
    • On Steam and Epic Game Store, the first time you launch the game a Region Selection launcher will pop up, where you can choose your desired region.
