Or they could have just wiped AS THEY PROMISED if they have the same problems AS THEY DID.... most people couldn't log in on the second try for over 30minutes, but who cares right?

they decided the qq of the 10 people that got in and saved their named would be bigger than the thousands of ppl that didnt get in at start.

    GF logic

Do you have access to the data on how many managed to log in, because I know at least 15 people that got in immediately, and that's only people I know. Obviously GF had the data, and as the decision was not to wipe I think you can be pretty sure that there were more who managed to get in than those who didn't. Thousands is a bit of an exaggeration, it seemed like thousands because of the "WIPE" spam on discord. Also another consideration, and also one that GF will have data to prove it, a lot of people who got in but weren't quick enough to get their names were shouting for a wipe. (Yes cheaters will be cheaters)

Yes it was a disaster, but I think they handled it pretty well considering a lot of games, if not most, have problems with mass logins at release/early access, and nobody was ever promised that they would get the names they wanted. I know several people who logged in at 1pm who missed getting their names, I also know some folks who got their names even though they missed getting in first, it was a chance and that was exactly the offer made by GF. I made some characters on NA, mainly to play with my American friends if needed, and one of my names was taken there....just have to get creative and make another one.

As for deleting names, I think you could be pretty sure that if people take a break from a game, which a lot of people do, and came back to find their characters with generic names, they would immediately log out and not bother returning. GF is a business, it's there to make money not further upset customers. In the future they will be relying on "breakers" returning at some stage. I still have all my characters intact with their names in EQ1, that's back to 1999. As for deleting level 1 chars, as somebody else has already said, I have reserved a name for my Fox and one for my Archer. The former will not be out for at least 6 months and the latter for some time after that. I would be furious to one day log in and find their names had been taken, and additionally there is no reason for me to play them until that time.

These packs will still be for sale after release, one simple point, do you really think someone will buy them for just the outfit/wings/weapon skin, when they can get similar from the shop for much less that 100 euros/dollars? The exclusive items won't be applicable to those packs, so they've paid out for no beta access, no early name reservation, no flag, no title, no housing bundle. If they are foolish enough to spend a huge amount on a costume they probably won't wear again (there will be too many people wearing it for it to look exclusive) good luck to them and well done Gameforge ;)

Did you read the minimum spec for playing this game? It is Windows 10, which is why it worked on your girlfriend's computer. Having read all the threads on this forum and in Discord etc. it would appear that many of the people having problems were either on Windows 7/8/8.1 or hadn't even bought the game and thought their Beta code would let them in.

I think Gameforge has done the best they could under the circumstances, especially as there were also a lot of people PRETENDING they didn't get in and shouting for a wipe because they didn't get the name they wanted and wanted another shot at it, which I would think Gamefore were aware of, having the data, and therefore didn't cave for a wipe because of that.

Unfortunately there is an extremely toxic crowd (don't go near Global chat...it's Twatter in disguise) in this game, goodness knows where they have come from but they feel they are entitled to get what they want when they want without actually doing anything to assist themselves to do just that, in the meantime bullying people so hard they leave the Discord.

I hope you have some success getting the names you want after you have upgraded to Windows 10.

We don't want to change your mind, you must make up your own mind. Each healer has a different playstyle, summoner wlll suit some, Bard wlll suit others and the Reaper also. Bard is like the "classic" healer from many mmos, it's easy to play well and easy to learn both DPS and healing. Summoner is the HoT healer, Reaper is great too but if you want to play both its specs you wlll have to like melee, also its aoe heals are purple and a lot of the bosses have purple skills, so until people are used to it they wlll run OUT of your healing :p

I'd like to know exactly what they will be "farming" there is nothing to farm. Even gathering nodes are on a timer for each player, some are on a week long timer.

Technically, the only way you are reaching the weekly caps on most in-game special currencies is with farming. You have like 3 pvp currencies to farm to the cap each week. That category alone is a huge time sink, but it is also very isolated from the rest of the game. PVP only effects PVP progression. But you also have leisure land and it's currency that you will need to farm most likely by playing mini-games. You got quests that are dailies but not on the daily cultivation tab menu, And there is some other currencies/items you can farm to a cap each week. Like housing quests and the weekly exchangable bank note limits. You got heroic quests each day. Most people will probably only do the highest tier heroic quests because that's the only one they see in their cultivation tab. But there are 3 regions that offer heroic dailies and those lesser regions still pay good cloud rider command and money. A certain... mundane types of questing has weekly caps on a special hidden reward as well. Though that is quite secret information I don't want to share as to help me take higher positions on a certain leaderboard.

Honestly, the amount of weekly stuff you can do that has a set daily/weekly cap but isn't explicitly a part of your "daily/weekly cultivation" tab is quite large. I didn't even get into the weekly leaderboards and their resets and rewards for them. You'll have to treasure hunt or play cards for hours or tens of hours if you want high spots and the decent rewards from those leaderboards. And, as you said, you also need to use all your weekly produced fortune on either the fishing or gathering.

I don't consider any of that "farming", it's simply playing the game. Also it against the ToS to allow anyone else to play on your account, so YOU will be playing the game :) You won't find bots doing daily quests.

Farming in most other games is where you get bots 24/7 taking resources, which can't be done in this game. You may get Rampagers "farming" world bosses and killing PvEers, but that is also sorted in this game, as long as you get a hit on the mob just once, you get rewards, and also there is the jail/debuff system that should keep that problem in check.

There is unfortunately people who have the whole family, or paid farmers play their account 24/7/365

I'd like to know exactly what they will be "farming" there is nothing to farm. Even gathering nodes are on a timer for each player, some are on a week long timer. It's a game, enjoy it for what it is, those that rush it are the first to say "there is nothing to do", and that's their problem, whilst those who take their time and enjoy the WHOLE game, never run out of stuff to do and really couldn't care less what so called "hardcore" players are doing as they are never likely to play with them. As for not finding groups for dungeons, there are always people willing to help others through them, they only have to ask in chat.

More follow-up questions popping in my head:

    1) If it's true that the same name can be registered multiple times in the EU server cluster (on each of its server), then I wonder how the name collisions are going to be handled?

    2) Is character name change going to be allowed in any form? I wouldn't like to be a "Dreamy9" forever...

Not sure where you got the idea that the same name can be registered multiple times in the EU server cluster. For example, I played CBT1 and CBT2 on Gameforge, then the demo on Steam. On the demo I tried all my names I had in the betas (and they aren't "generic" names) and all were taken (obviously by my chars).

I can answer your second question as well, yes there is a name change token you can purchase in the in game shop. I didn't investigate it, but I would imagine there is a time limitation on it, otherwise people would abuse the use of it.

Why aren't you announcing the release yet?

    - We are waiting to receive the final VO client. Once that one is good and approved, we'll announce.

Now that we have a release date, any chance we can get a date for pre-load/name reservation? cat_pat

They will be releasing that information next week in the stream.

Streamers have said not to use DLSS

Well I'm not much into what makes things work in computers (as long as it works for me it's good) I have an i7-9700 and an RTX 2060, with 16 GB RAM, so it's obviously not a top spec, just kind of "middle of the road" but I have the game on full ultra, it's absolutely gorgeous, no tearing, nothing pixelated, fps ranging 60-107 normally and nearer 60 when doing world bosses with loads of players. I haven't turned anything off as I love to see all the spells exploding like fireworks. Maybe just an upgrade on your card would help, nothing fancy as "fancy" costs the earth at the moment, but I can definitely vouch for the one I've got.

One tip, I heard a streamer mention, and I haven't a clue why it should work, but the game plays a lot smoother if you change the setting which is 1200 by default to 1600 (maximum camera distance under Camera control). Even though mine is smooth on the default, it's just faultless on 1600.

Then something is really wrong. I have a better CPU and slightly better GPU and yet your game runs better than mine..

Also I will try the 1600 camera thing, thats weird haha.

You said you had a 1080? I'm 100% positive it's not better than a 2060 GTX :) Plus I have the game on my SSD which makes a difference. Just popped out or forum to look at a comparison on your CPU and mine, let's just say mine is once again better than yours by miles. Probably why I have absolutely silky smooth, glorious graphics all on ultra.

If they didn't want suggestions they wouldn't have given us the option to suggest :) So yes, they have asked for suggestions. As for how long I play this game, you have no idea. It could be very short if PKers start going around in gangs killing everyone they can find and it keeps wasting our time, or it may be for years....we'll see and I think that's the view of many of the folks who don't like the rampage idea. GF is a business if it start losing those who spend on costumes (mainly PvEers) they will do something about it. So we will "suggest" while we can.

Beware these players always demanding a release date and asking for a rush release, these are the SAME players who will throw stones for any small problem that happens in the launch day. Been there many times, don't listen these people because they don't care about the product at all.

For me its about clarity, not about rushing the devs. Yes, want to play, like many of us here. Yet, if it takes another 2 - 3 weeks to get the game in an optimum state, I am fine with that. Just share some info about the state of the game, that's all.

You have to remember that there are many mmorpgs coming out at the same time, or within a few weeks of each other. If they delay release of SOLO they will lose people to those other games. At the moment the hype is still high, if that wains (and the discord channels are much quieter already) they will have missed the opportunity to pick up more players. It's a fine balancing act, I don't envy them.

complain as much as you want, there are enough players who like the PK system as it is, so i doubt anything will be changed as GF already stated they want to keep Rampage Mode like it is.

I expect GF will see how things go on release, and if too many people leave because of PKing they will do something before it gets too bad. But for the time being they have asked for suggestions and suggestions are what they will get.

Oh wow I expected summoner to be more pops. Not enough love for reaper either! Would be nice to see distribution of tank/dps/healer too...

"Not enough love for reaper either!" the problem is: "a little" hard to play. Totally normal. It's not impossible, but it's more hard than others classes...

I would say it's not so much "harder" but you have to do more to get the same results as an "easier" class.
