    That's because WoW is one of the few games that can afford to do that, knowing there will be little to no issues with the pre-reservations. I am not aware of any other game that lets players reserve that many names apart from WoW, and the entire issue lies here - They couldn't manage to handle their servers properly. Had they done that, this conversation wouldn't even exist in the first place, but here we are.

    To begin with, we're all aware of how horrible the experience with character name reservation went. Honestly, if I have to give my own personal opinion, it's the worst experience I've had in the past couple of years unless we include the Aion Classic tragedy. That one was on another level.


    I'm not going to go into details about how it was handled, I'm sure you're all already pissed off enough regarding it, requested your refunds, or whatever else. I'm not going to mention how the uncertainty in the situations was a pretty big "Screw you" to the people as well - "Yeah, maybe there will be a wipe, maybe there won't be a wipe, let's see how it goes, let's keep dwelling on it for a while longer despite the bigger amount of our players not being able to log in", all good - All in the past.


    The big issue wasn't the fact Gameforge yet again wasn't able to start something off without server issues, it was the fact they didn't think about it in advance. And to go into a little bit of a further elaboration here - Giving the possibility to pick 6 character names instead of 1, maximum 2? I mean let's be real, it was a horrible decision in the first place.


    But what's done is done, moving on.


    In order to undo the bitter taste you've left in your players' mouths, consider introducing an auto-deletion of names after a specific interval of time.


    What does this mean?


    Simple, after an x amount of time has passed without the character being active, the character would either be renamed to a generic name (GenName1234) or the character would be deleted - Either scenario, resulting in freeing up the name.


    I personally think it would be a better idea to resort to the generic names, making sure there are no potential issues related to "my character was deleted because I forgot to log on it for 2 months".


    There would obviously be conditions here as well:

    • The character has been inactive for an x amount of time. (30 to 60 days, perhaps)
    • The character is below a specific level. (Lv10, perhaps)
    • Whatever else Gameforge's heart desires.


    We've all been scarred by Gameforge in the past, SOLO's team seems to be one of the better ones in the company, at least in my experience. I understand that you can not turn the wheels of time and fix the mistake, but at least do try to make things right for the numerous amount of people that got screwed over by your amazing idea to give 6 character name slots.

    So ever since a situation with having to re-create some forum posts happened, the gallery/slideshow preview went missing.

    Example:

    Since the edit button is not going to get adjusted to anything longer than 1 hour (and frankly even if it did, I don't know how I'd be able to fix it), is there any chance it could be fixed manually on the moderator's side?


    The reason is that it's easier for users to just click on the first image and then simply use the arrows to browse through images, instead of having to scroll down through the post. It's a really convenient feature.

    Introduction


    You can simply think of these photo book objects like a pet that has no attribute bonuses, but instead, it has many appearances, item decompositions, and equipment that can be synthesized.


    Story


    "The predecessor of "Zhaoying" was the sword spirit of the ancient famous sword. Catalyzed by the "Things of Shadows", and then re-transformed into spiritual bodies. It accompanies the owner, like a shadow, and cannot exist independently of the owner. It is like the owner's shadow. It also naturally likes to imitate the owner's own thoughts. It will change its appearance along with the other life consciousness contained in the "shadow" Therefore it is called "Photography/Photo Book"."


    How to Unlock


    After the consecration ceremony, talk to the corresponding NPC, accept the task of "Photographing for the first time", press "P" to open the Photo Book interface and then right-click to consume the props.


    Item Decomposition


    In order to begin item decomposition, you have to open up your backpack first. Click the corresponding button of "Decomposition" to start the operation (You can also press "P" to open the Photo Book interface, and perform the decomposition action through the inventory at the bottom of that interface).


    • Decomposing items that are rich in auras can provide the player with auras of the shadows. The exchange of equipment requires a lot of secret fragments and auras of the shadows.
    • Decomposing equipment can provide the player with additional strengthening materials and spirits.

    You can hold Shift for batch decomposition.


    Dismantling


    1. Dismantle the cosmetic items purchased by Tongbao to obtain dust crystals
    2. Dust crystals can be used to purchase goods in the Dust Crystal Mall

    Note - When your Photo Book-shadow aura is not enough, you can get a lot of aura by decomposing the old version of advanced equipment gems and gem synthesis accessories.


    Photo Book Skills


    The player can improve skill levels by consuming aura. Each skill has up to 5 levels.

    However, there are some skill levels that require a certain amount of shadow collection - After a certain branch has reached a certain amount of shadow collections, it can be increased.


    • [Removed in Version 3.0] "Lian Feng" - Every 60/50/40/30/30 seconds (Level 1-5), the character can trigger the combo effect when hitting the target, causing additional damage of 40% of its own attack power (2 triggers at Level 5) - The skill only takes effect under the damage specialization.

    Transmog


    Transmog is basically the appearance of Photo Book pets. There are many ways to obtain various appearances, including but not limited to:

    • Activity Collection
    • Recharge Rewards
    • Prestige Purchase
    • Drops

    God, please yes. Thousand times yes.


    I had an actual issue with posting threads that had to be remade with the help of Celes (she was great by the way, by far one of the best community managers I've interacted with during the years), it was around 1 hour of work, it messed up the gallery preview, which is troublesome and it was an overall extremely unneeded experience that could've simply had been resolved by making the edit button a week or a month or even permanent.


    Do this entire community a favor and make the edit button last a minimum of a week.
