Wow very comprehensive list, those are some good suggestions!
Although I will say changing stuff like <Protect the best Maoqi> to <Protector of Maoqi> does kind of lose the uh original feeling, because it is supposed to be more of funny/casual title. There should be like a good balance between translating (maintaining the meaning of the original text) and localization (i.e. changing the words itself to work better with our interface).
That's true, I didn't think about it like that. In the case of <Protect the best Maoqi> I just thought it sounded weird and changed it, but in that specific case it's one where it doesn't really matter THAT much if the name/title/guild remains too long since it's just an "unimportant" friendly NPC out in the wild.
For my personal must-change list it would look something like this in terms of priority: Dungeon mobs > Open world mobs > NPCs.
The reason for that priority is based on how often you will experience the large texts looking out of place + the cases where long texsts will be blocking view of the mobs themselves. It can get really insane in dungeons/the open world if you pull a lot and your screen is so cluttered with long texts that you basically can't even see the mob models themselves anymore.
I had just gone in with the goal of streamlining everything so that there wouldn't be long texts everywhere, since I recognize that the game was designed to have Chinese letters which are very compact compared to western letters.
